About the role

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Production, this position provides front line support for production flow and processes to ensure efficient meeting of production schedules and goals. You will direct production employees, resolve issues impeding production flow, and seek process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The role involves procuring resources and supplies, performing production tasks as needed, and monitoring policy compliance. You will report and maintain LDR statistics and perform other duties as assigned, including mandatory overtime and cross-training for higher classification tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and training to production employees to maximize output.
  • Resolve production flow issues and implement process improvements.
  • Procure resources and supplies to support operations.
  • Perform production tasks to ensure order completion.
  • Monitor and report policy infractions or operational issues.
  • Maintain LDR statistics and other reporting requirements.
  • Supervise employees, including planning, delegating, directing work, coaching performance, and addressing complaints or problems.
  • Encourage and maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
  • Work flexible hours, including mandatory overtime, and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Perform other duties of equal or lesser classification as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a production operation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Brodart production standards of efficiency and skill.
  • PC proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize work assignments.
  • Flexibility to make safety-related decisions and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with subordinates and management.
  • Ability to enforce and support company rules, policies, and standards of conduct.

Skills

  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. and frequent pushing of book trucks weighing several hundred pounds.

Work Environment

This position operates in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures, noise (e.g., conveyor systems), dust, and exposure to glue or adhesives. Regular attendance and punctuality are required, and the role may involve scheduled overtime based on production needs.
