Group Leader - Bioanalytical LCMS Assay Services - M - F Second Shift

This is a fully onsite role based in our bioanalytical laboratory at 8700 Quioccasin Road in Richmond, VA. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST (Second Shift / Afternoons)

Environmental Conditions

• Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
• Work in cold rooms/freezers (-22°F / -6°C)
• Office environment
• Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)
• Work with hazardous/toxic materials

• Exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in laboratory environments

Responsibilities

• Provides management and direction to laboratory staff and resources for project activities and needs
• Oversees daily operations to monitor quality and project timelines
• Assists in preparation and implementation of company policies, quality systems, and training programs
• Ensures responsiveness to customer needs and overall client satisfaction
• Plans and monitors project progress and quality using financial and quality management tools
• Prepares, reviews, and approves study protocols, project status reports, final study reports, and other technical documents
• Designs experimental studies and participates in technical troubleshooting
• Reviews data for technical quality and compliance to protocols, methods, and SOPs
• Reviews and approves laboratory investigations, deviations, and QA facility and data audits
• Leads client and FDA audits
• Allocates, schedules, and manages laboratory resources for project activities; updates project status
• Reviews timesheet reports for billing accuracy
• Responds to client questions and needs; leads client technical meetings
• Assists in preparation of proposals by providing project definition
• Identifies new opportunities within client base and works with business development to pursue them
• Coordinates and prioritizes project activities with internal functional groups (physical testing, analytical development, microbiology, etc.) and support functions (QA, sample management, etc.)
• Assists management in their responsibilities
• Prepares and implements PPD SOPs and company operational policies
• Ensures adherence to quality systems and makes recommendations for improvements

Requirements

• BS Degree + 8 years of experience (must include 1+ year of people management responsibility)
• OR MS + 6 years of experience (must include 1+ year of people management responsibility)
• OR PhD + 3-5 years of experience (must include 1+ year of people management responsibility)
• In some cases, an equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience may be considered

Pay

The salary range for this position based in Virginia is $100,000.00–$115,000.00. This position may also be eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
