Group Leader

About the role

The primary function of the Group Leader is to plan group activities that provide a safe and engaging learning environment to the participants of the Stanley M. Isaacs Beacon program. The program is delivered through a comprehensive menu of services including project based learning that integrate education enrichment, visual arts, clubs, trips, and sports.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement group activities that align with the program's educational and developmental goals
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
• Engage participants in various activities such as visual arts, clubs, trips, and sports
• Collaborate with educators to integrate academic enrichment into group activities
• Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of participants
• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• At least one year of experience working with children and/or youth in a group setting
• Experience planning and implementing group activities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (due to program location)

• Knowledge of child development and best practices in group facilitation
• Experience with project-based learning and curriculum integration
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules
• Passion for supporting the growth and development of young people

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Benefits

Seasonal position, operating until June 2026.

Pay

$20.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Hours may vary)
