Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring alignment with quality, safety, and output goals.
- Troubleshoot and improve machining processes to maintain efficiency and product quality.
- Perform tool changes on CNC equipment including hobbing, grinding, milling, and turning machines.
- Train production associates to safely and effectively operate CNC machinery, automation systems, and in-process gauging equipment.
- Monitor production output, scrap, and downtime; complete all associated reports accurately and on time.
- Ensure all processes and team members comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14000 standards.
- Perform in-process inspections using gauges and indicators per documented procedures.
- Detect and address abnormal equipment sounds, performance, or appearance.
- Conduct simple part and fixture changes for product changeovers.
- Inspect components visually and manually to identify potential defects.
- Record machine settings and process conditions using designated check sheets.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with machining or high-speed equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret CMM reports, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with quality control, inspection tools, and geometric tolerancing.
- Able to read work instructions and complete basic production reports.
- Must be physically able to perform tasks involving frequent bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs regularly), and standing for extended periods.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but requires strong leadership to guide and support production associates.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and use of hands for handling tools and controls.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Regular lifting and moving of parts and tools up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to moving machinery and loud noise levels. Use of personal protective equipment is required in designated areas.
