Group Fitness Instructor
About the role
The Group Exercise Instructor plays a crucial role under the direction of the Group Fitness Director. They are responsible for delivering high-quality group exercise programs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment, and providing exceptional customer service to members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Provide a wide variety of classes to a discerning fitness population
- Ensure classes are of the highest quality in terms of content, safety, and physical challenge
- Present innovative, entertaining, and fun classes
- Deliver an exceptional experience to members, guests, and Associates
- Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate
- Participate in events, programs, meetings, and training
- Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through and response
Requirements
- Current Group Exercise certification with one or more of the following: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or specialty-specific certification
- CPR/AED certification
- Minimum two (2) years of group exercise or fitness-related teaching experience

Qualifications

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, and dancing or stretching
- Must occasionally lift 50 pounds
- Ability to arrive at work on time for all scheduled work shifts required
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays required
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment
- Public contact, dealing with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations
