Group Fitness Instructor

About the role

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a certified group fitness instructor who can lead engaging classes and inspire members towards healthier lifestyles.

Responsibilities

• Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness
• Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards
• Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles
• Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff
• Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns within the facility
• Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction
• Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents

Requirements

• 18+ years of age
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification
• Experience with teaching: Step, Stretch & Balance; and Barre/Pilates
• Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
