About the role

Monte Nido Walden Waltham, located in Waltham, MA, is a primary eating disorder day treatment program exclusively for adults seeking treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or Exercise Addiction. The Group Facilitator is responsible for providing direct patient support as well as therapeutic interventions in adherence to the philosophy and principles of Monte Nido.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, comfortable environment and therapeutic milieu for patients.
  • Model therapeutic eating habits with clients by eating provided programmatic meals and snacks aligned with the company’s nutrition philosophy.
  • Engage with patients in a way aligned with the company’s therapeutic approach.
  • Deliver curriculum to groups, communicate, and escalate situations appropriately.
  • Run assigned groups independently; co-facilitate groups as needed by supporting engagement and attendance.
  • Internalize feedback from manager on interactions with team and clients and work to improve.
  • Present professionally, reflecting the standards of care of Monte Nido.
  • Monitor patient safety (including eating-disordered behaviors) during the program day and intervene with recovery-focused directives when appropriate.
  • Participate in and monitor daily meals and snacks; facilitate Meal Pre-Planning and Meal Process Groups; eat with clients during meals and snacks.
  • Check in with clients as needed, escalate absences in real time, and coordinate the collection of outcome and client satisfaction surveys.
  • Document in daily reports and patient meal logs all interactions, communications, behaviors, and interventions in a timely fashion; update group and meal notes within 24 hours.
  • Participate in weekly to bi-weekly staff meetings and treatment team to continue personal and professional growth.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of a patient’s total needs, addressing psychosocial, physical, developmental, spiritual, and cultural issues.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the program’s policies and enforce them with clients in group as needed.
  • Adhere to Monte Nido & Affiliates policies and procedures, including work schedule, time and attendance, and time off.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, co-workers, and others.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and communications.
  • Uphold the values and philosophy of the mission statement of Monte Nido.
  • Recommend quality and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling or similar field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a relevant health-related field.
  • Group therapy experience preferred.

Schedule

Full-time position including day and evening hours, Monday through Friday.

Pay

$23.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
