Groundskeeping Supervisor - Florida International University - Groundskeeping

About the role

The Groundskeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that facility grounds are maintained properly and efficiently, adhering to compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns daily work assignments to groundskeeping teams and supervises the completion of tasks according to established sustainability guidelines
• Maintains client expectations as it relates to compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal statutes as well as contract requirements
• Inspects and tours acreage to identify areas for maintenance improvement or landscape upgrades
• May be responsible for order placement and inventory management
• Performs regular maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment and tools as needed
• Operates trucks, tractors and attachments used to maintain grounds as needed

Requirements

• 3+ years previous experience in groundskeeping/horticulture or related role
• Non-commercial driver's license required
• Previous supervisory or lead grounds crew experience preferred
• Working knowledge of groundskeeping principles and power landscape equipment

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization as well as external vendors and contractors
