Groundskeeper - Wynhoven
About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. The ideal candidate must be able to efficiently perform grounds and light maintenance duties to maintain a clean and attractive property daily. Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. With almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed to date, Providence has taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc., adding their 60-year history of excellence to our team managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments. We focus on producing and preserving affordable housing and empowering strong communities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee both resident apartments and property maintenance needs
- Check all grounds, buildings, parking lots, and front sidewalks for cleaning
- Check all lights and replace light bulbs when needed
- Use all supplies cautiously and wear protective gear such as gloves, eyewear, etc.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with seniors and creating a positive, supportive environment
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Reliable and adaptable
- Able to assist the maintenance staff with duties such as make-ready tasks
Schedule
This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday.
Additional Information
This position requires the successful completion of drug and background testing as part of the hiring process. The drug test does not screen for marijuana.
