Groundskeeper (Temp)

Job Summary

Custodial and Grounds Services (CGS) at the University of Michigan is hiring temporary Groundskeepers to serve the U-M community. Grounds Services cares for the university's 1200 acres of maintained green space and other natural areas.

Responsibilities

• Aid in lawn care and turf maintenance
• Pick up litter
• Weed and maintain planting and perennial beds
• Clean hardscape surfaces
• Rake, mulch, remove leaves, and snow and ice removal
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and facility managers

Modes of Work

This position works fully onsite at the Ann Arbor Campus. Work schedules vary by crew, but most temporary groundskeepers work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
