Groundskeeper (Temp)
Job Summary
Custodial and Grounds Services (CGS) at the University of Michigan is hiring temporary Groundskeepers to serve the U-M community. Grounds Services cares for the university's 1200 acres of maintained green space and other natural areas.
Responsibilities
- Aid in lawn care and turf maintenance
- Pick up litter
- Weed and maintain planting and perennial beds
- Clean hardscape surfaces
- Rake, mulch, remove leaves, and snow and ice removal
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and facility managers

- Ability to perform repetitive tasks

Modes of Work
This position works fully onsite at the Ann Arbor Campus. Work schedules vary by crew, but most temporary groundskeepers work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
