Job Overview

Under the general supervision of the Building Service Worker, responsible for care and maintenance of landscaping throughout the fairgrounds.

Essential Functions

• Operate mowers, weed eaters, trucks, tractors and other equipment.
• Use hand tools and some small power tools.
• Fix sprinklers and water pipes.
• Weed and maintain flower beds.
• Perform a variety of general custodial functions such as emptying trash, picking up litter, cleaning windows, sweeping and cleaning restrooms and other areas.
• Perform other duties in connection with the operation of the facility.

Education/Experience

• Some experience in operation of mowers, weed eaters and other equipment.
• Knowledge in landscaping.

Special Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver's License and have a good driving record.
• Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.
• Working days may include weekends and holidays.
• May be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.

Physical Demands

• Frequent sitting and talking or hearing.
• Occasional walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
• Work in extreme weather conditions.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.
