Groundskeeper (Nazareth Inn)

About the role

We are currently seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. The ideal candidate must be able to efficiently perform grounds and light maintenance duties to maintain a clean and attractive property daily. Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area, with almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed. They have taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc., adding a 60-year history of excellence managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments, focusing on the production and preservation of affordable housing and empowering strong communities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resident apartments and property maintenance needs.
• Check all grounds, parking lot, and front sidewalks.
• Initiate orders for housekeeping supplies and equipment with manager approval.
• Maintain inventory of all supplies.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment for seniors and make a positive impact on residents and staff.

Requirements

• Passion for working with seniors and creating a positive, supportive environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and adaptable.
• Able to assist maintenance staff with other duties such as make ready(s).
• Successful completion of drug and background testing required (drug test does not screen for marijuana).

Schedule

Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday.
