Groundskeeper/Irrigation

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water usage on campus grounds.
• Landscapes and maintains campus grounds.
• Performs scheduled lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, and fertilizing, tree and shrub pruning, repair and reseeding of damaged lawn areas.
• Plants and maintains trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Water lawn, trees and plants.
• Rakes and disposes of leaves and other yard waste.
• Maintain driveways, sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Keeps grounds free of litter.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Picks up and delivers material and equipment.
• Reports maintenance problems related to trade but not but not limited to trade
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Be able to operate all types of equipment, machinery and tools to perform duties.
• Must be able to work with others and communicate in a firm and friendly manner with all staff and fellow workers as well as students.

Education

• Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to high school with course work in skilled crafts or trades training.

Experience

• Evidences knowledge of and ability to perform tasks related to essential duties and responsibilities listed above. 2+ years prior experience in lawn care and landscaping.

Physical Requirements

• Sufficient vision to read printed material.
• Sufficient body movement and mobility to drive a vehicle, crawl, bend, stoop, and work on knees.

Work Environment

• Ability to have sufficient stamina to perform heavy physical labor in adverse weather conditions.
