Groundskeeper/Irrigation
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water usage on campus grounds.
- Landscapes and maintains campus grounds.
- Performs scheduled lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, and fertilizing, tree and shrub pruning, repair and reseeding of damaged lawn areas.
- Plants and maintains trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Water lawn, trees and plants.
- Rakes and disposes of leaves and other yard waste.
- Maintain driveways, sidewalks, and parking lots.
- Keeps grounds free of litter.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Picks up and delivers material and equipment.
- Reports maintenance problems related to trade but not but not limited to trade
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Be able to operate all types of equipment, machinery and tools to perform duties.
- Must be able to work with others and communicate in a firm and friendly manner with all staff and fellow workers as well as students.
Education
- Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to high school with course work in skilled crafts or trades training.
Experience
- Evidences knowledge of and ability to perform tasks related to essential duties and responsibilities listed above. 2+ years prior experience in lawn care and landscaping.
Physical Requirements
- Sufficient vision to read printed material.
- Sufficient body movement and mobility to drive a vehicle, crawl, bend, stoop, and work on knees.
Work Environment
- Ability to have sufficient stamina to perform heavy physical labor in adverse weather conditions.
