GROUNDSKEEPER

Responsibilities
- Pressure wash outside of casino, decks, entrances to the casino, and other areas as needed and/or as directed.
- Clean grounds and remove litter.
- Remove all trash from parking lot as needed.
- Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
- Water lawn and shrubs; trim plants as needed.
- Clean out drainage, ditches, and culverts.
- Maintain cleanliness of outside smoking area.
- Maintain parking lots and adjacent areas in a sanitary manner.
- Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Facilities maintenance experience in hospitality or related field, or groundskeeping/landscaping experience required.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic finishing.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive approach to dealing with issues.
- Must have good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier.
Physical demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
Work environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock.
- Employee could be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.

Paid time off is earned according to the local policy and increases with the length of employment.
Pay
$14.50 per hour.
