Groundskeeper

Maintaining Site Landscaping

The groundskeeper will maintain site landscaping, including lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and irrigation. They will also fertilize lawns, trees, flowers, and shrubs, and spread mulch. The groundskeeper will trim trees, hedges, and shrubs, and prevent and eliminate weeds.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain site landscaping
• Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and irrigation
• Fertilize lawn, trees, flowers, and shrubs, and spread mulch
• Trim trees, hedges, and shrubs, and prevent and eliminate weeds
• Operate and maintain hand tools, such as loppers, saws, and shovels efficiently
• Operate and maintain trucks and power tools
• Utilize insecticides, fertilizers, and chemical sprays to treat diseases
• Keep grounds free from trash, litter, and debris, and empty trash receptacles
• Conduct basic irrigation audits and perform basic irrigation repairs
• Remove snow by using a shovel or snow blower
• Other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
• 1+ years of groundskeeping or related experience
• Proficient in using manual and power tools safely
• Free from allergies that interfere with Groundskeeper duties
• Able to follow instructions
• Physically agile and dexterous
• Able to work well as part of a team and on their own
• Able to process negative feedback and remain professional
• Able to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
• Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Able to attend to detail
• Able to be accountable and dependable in all that they do
• Able to manage time effectively, organize, plan, and prioritize

Physical Requirements

• Lift boxes and packages weighing up to 60 pounds
• Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
• Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
• Standing for extended periods of time
