Groundskeeper
About the role
The Groundskeeper is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to ground maintenance and construction within the golf course and surrounding areas. This role involves various duties related to maintaining and enhancing the overall appearance and functionality of the grounds.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate powered equipment for mowing and maintaining facility grounds.
- Utilize light equipment for hauling materials and removing debris.
- Water and fertilize greenery around the facility to promote healthy growth.
- Grade and prepare soil plant beds, lay sod, plant vegetative material, and seed as required.
- Trim trees, prune shrubbery, and cultivate shrubs and flowers to maintain landscape aesthetics.
- Complete daily assignments to meet Club standards and align star service focus expectations, ensuring areas are free of trash and debris.
- Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
- Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
- Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success.
Requirements
Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Prior knowledge in landscape management, greenhouse operations, or groundskeeping maintenance is preferred.
- Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs.
- Talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Primary Tools/Equipment: Construction tools (shovels, axes, sledgehammers, etc.), Gardening tools (pruners, rakes, hedge shears, trimmers, etc.), Blowers, Grass Mowers, Tractors.

Work Schedule
Attendance requirements for this position as outlined on the weekly schedule. Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
