Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Train and mentor a team of groundskeepers, ensuring high performance, efficient task delegation, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Grounds Maintenance: Oversee the care of lawns, gardens, trails, and recreational areas (e.g., pickleball courts, trails), including mowing, trimming, planting, and irrigation maintenance.
- Landscape Enhancement: Plan and implement landscaping projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the resort, ensuring alignment with Foxhall’s natural beauty and guest experience goals.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and inspect groundskeeping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles), ensuring proper operation and timely repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards, conduct regular inspections, and ensure all groundskeeping activities comply with resort policies and regulations.
- Environmental Stewardship: Promote sustainable practices, such as water conservation and native plant use, to preserve the resort’s natural environment.
- Event Support: Prepare grounds for events, such as weddings or corporate retreats, ensuring pristine conditions for outdoor venues.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of landscaping supplies, tools, and materials, ensuring availability for daily operations.
- Guest Interaction: Address guest inquiries related to grounds or outdoor areas, maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Reporting: Document maintenance activities, provide updates on grounds conditions, and recommend improvements to management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in groundskeeping or landscaping, with at least 12 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant care, irrigation systems, and grounds maintenance.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Grounds Manager, Pesticide Applicator License) preferred.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles.
- Physically able to perform handson tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team and engage with guests.
- Valid driver’s license; experience operating resort vehicles (e.g., ATVs) is a plus.
- Detailoriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
