Responsibilities
- Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns, turf, and landscaped areas throughout the resort.
- Operate landscape equipment including commercial mowers, edgers, blowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, chippers, tractors, utility vehicles, and other grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, ornamental plants, and seasonal landscaping through pruning, trimming, weeding, mulching, and fertilizing.
- Water, irrigate, and monitor the health of plants, flowers, trees, and turf.
- Assist with installing and repairing irrigation systems, including sprinkler heads, valves, and drip irrigation.
- Lay sod, reseed turf, and repair damaged lawn areas as needed.
- Remove weeds, debris, leaves, litter, and other materials from landscaped areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and guest pathways.
- Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, outdoor gathering spaces, planters, courtyards, and other exterior resort features.
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other landscape treatments in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on landscaping equipment and report equipment needing service.
- Assist with seasonal landscaping projects, special events, and outdoor venue preparation.
- Monitor grounds for safety hazards, irrigation issues, damaged landscaping, or maintenance concerns and promptly report deficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Housekeeping, Events, and other departments to ensure the resort maintains exceptional curb appeal.
- Greet every guest with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Provide directions and general resort information to guests when requested.
- Respond promptly to guest concerns or notify the appropriate department to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain a working knowledge of resort amenities, restaurants, meeting spaces, and special events.
- Represent Town and Country Resort by delivering exceptional hospitality during every guest interaction.
- Communicate effectively with Grounds leadership and fellow team members regarding daily assignments and property conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all resort safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and proper equipment operating practices.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, damaged equipment, or suspicious activity to management.
- Protect company property, equipment, and supplies by using them responsibly.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Town and Country Resort grooming and uniform standards.
- Demonstrate teamwork by assisting other departments when operational needs require.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience operating commercial landscape equipment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, plant care, turf maintenance, and safe chemical handling.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
