Job Summary
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the church’s outdoor areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members, visitors, and community events. This role supports the overall mission of the church by caring for the physical appearance of the property.Job Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, gardens, trees, and landscaping (mowing, trimming, edging, watering)
- Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and seasonal plants
- Remove weeds, leaves, debris, and trash from all outdoor areas
- Maintain walkways, parking lots, and entrances (sweeping, pressure washing, minor repairs)
- Auxiliary with snow and ice removal during winter months
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Monitor irrigation systems and report issues
- Help set up and tear down for outdoor church events or services
- Ensure grounds are safe and hazard-free (e.g., fallen branches, uneven surfaces)
- Report maintenance needs or safety concerns to church leadership
Job Requirements
- Prior experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred
- Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment
- Physical ability to lift, bend, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of plants, lawn care, and seasonal maintenance
- Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
