Grounds Technician
About the role
Join our team as a Grounds Technician and help keep our parks safe, clean, and beautiful! You'll perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including trimming, weeding, and ensuring restrooms and park facilities are in top shape.
Responsibilities
- Performs the full range of grounds maintenance: mows, rakes, edges and trims lawns, trims trees, waters and weeds shrub and flower beds.
- Affixes and removes dead or damaged trees and shrubs.
- Assists at City-sponsored events when needed.
- Operates power mowers, edger, and other small grounds maintenance equipment; monitors irrigation systems.
- Uses knowledge of fertilizer formulations for use in spreaders and or other proper fertilizer applicators.
- Maintains restrooms; litter pick-up; paints, and performs minor repairs on facilities, equipment, park furnishings and amenities.
- Performs preventative maintenance including checking and changing oil and minor repair of equipment including vehicle, pole saw, chain saw, blower, and weed- eater.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
Preferred
- Previous lawn maintenance experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform minor repairs, follow written and oral instructions and operate tools and machinery necessary for maintenance and repairs.

Pay
Starting at $10 per hour; up to $25 per hour based on experience.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
