About the Role
Grounds Tech I is an entry-level position responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds, landscaping, and outdoor facilities of Cincinnati Children's properties. This role ensures a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds through mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering.

- Remove litter, debris, and hazardous materials from outdoor areas.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, mulching, and snow/ice management.
- Inspect and report damage to sidewalks, parking lots, fences, and outdoor structures.
- Follow safety protocols for equipment use, chemical handling, and weather-related hazards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to support facility operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance practices and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles/equipment safely.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
