About the role
Department: Plant Operations. Under the general supervision of the Engineering management, cares for hospital grounds by properly maintaining outside building areas in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Mowing grass
- Trimming shrubs
- Maintaining inventory of salt and all lawn care products
- Maintaining and performing repairs on grounds equipment
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months previous experience operating commercial grounds equipment
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license
- Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles
- Ability to perform small engine repair
- Ability to read blueprints/diagrams
Preferred
- Associate degree
- Two years of job‑related experience
- Master Gardener certification
Pay
Rate of Pay: $19.95 to $22.34 per hour based on experience
Schedule
- Shift: Days
- Daily Work Times: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 80
- Full‑time
- Weekends required
- On‑call: No
