Grounds Maintenance Worker - Weed & Pest/Urban Forestry
About the role
This seasonal Grounds Maintenance Technician position offers hands-on outdoor work and the opportunity to make a visible impact throughout the city. Typical duties include picking up litter, mowing, weed eating, and caring for native grass areas; planting trees and assisting with watering, pruning, and minimal tree removal; and supporting seasonal urban forestry and weed/pest control projects.

Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- First Aid/CPR preferred
- Valid Wyoming Driver’s License preferred
Qualifications
- Customer service principles
- Basic principles of health and sanitation standards
- Proper use of basic manual tools
Skills
- Basic math
- Operate various types of handheld and light mechanical equipment such as trim mowers, blowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment
- Follow written and verbal instructions and direction
- Walk, dig trenches, climb ladders and clean-up work sites in a neat and orderly fashion
- Safely operate and handle equipment and supplies
- Communicate effectively
- Learn general layout of facility to provide assistance to patrons
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance
- Follow all City safety rules and procedures and immediately report all accidents/incidents or unsafe conditions to a supervisor

Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. before Memorial Day and after Labor Day
Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 27th to August 30th (Memorial Day until Labor Day)
