Grounds Crewman 1

About the role

The Grounds Crewman I maintains all landscaped areas of the property, including new and seasonal plantings. Assists in setting up and breaking down equipment and items used for Food & Beverage functions, sometimes outside the normal work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operates larger machinery (loader and jig lift), mowers, and small power equipment.
• Maintains shrubs, trees, and grounds by mowing, edging, trimming, and watering.
• Performs basic and specialized pruning tasks.
• Cleans driveways, sidewalks, streets, and access paths.
• Maintains the nursery holding area.
• Reports irrigation and pest problems to the Grounds Foreman or Grounds Manager.
• Moves or relocates furniture, tables, chairs, potted plants, and dance floors when needed.
• Assists in moving and setting up tents, portable heaters, etc.
• Operates company vehicle to run errands, perform general custodial tasks, or act as a back-up/relief operator.
• Makes deliveries to Members for parties.
• Smooths transitions from sidewalks or roads to pebble areas.
• Assists Grounds Foreman in assigning tasks to Grounds Laborers and demonstrates how and where to perform duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years’ experience in grounds and landscaping or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
