Grounds Associate (part time)

Primary Responsibilities

• Report to Director of Grounds
• Work in concert with Director of Grounds on facility expectations
• Assist with seasonal clean-up of landscape areas on campus
• Daily maintenance of grounds
• Mowing
• Mulching
• Trimming/weeding
• Flowers/seasonal annual rotation
• Watering of areas as needed
• Leaf cleanup/removal
• Spray parking lots for weeds
• Outside improvement projects
• General upkeep and replacement of damaged areas
• Maintenance of equipment
• Work in concert with Event Services team for Fieldhouse event needs
• Other duties as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk long distances
• Climb stairs
• Stand for 6 hours or more
• Be outdoors in all weather conditions for 6 hours or more
• Work effectively in a high-noise environment
• Verbal communication with fans, staff, and partners
• Navigate large venue spaces

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous grounds related experience
• Valid NYS driver’s license
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to work weekends, holidays, as needed
• Able to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Proactive knowledge, training, and/or education of current best practices with landscape technologies and standards

Pay

This role pays $16.00 an hour.
