Groundman / Hostler Driver - IMEX USA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare railcars for loading and unloading by removing and installing IBC locks.
• Train in the Hostler Driver position.
• Perform a variety of driving tasks, including hauling containers from the rail track to other areas of the intermodal yard for outside driver pickup, moving chassis, and moving containers about the intermodal yard in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualification Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Reasoning Abilities

• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
• Works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
• Occasionally works in noisy environments.

Starting Pay

Starting pay is $21.79/hr. After 90 days, pay increases to $22.79 per hour.
