Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards
• Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead and underground lines
• Aids with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, cross-arms, insulators, switches and switchgear
• Sets poles and anchors
• Aid the team in completing their tasks more effectively and meeting project objectives
• Identify utilities and watch dig crew dig to prevent utility hits
• Clean up and maintain equipment
• Restock trucks with supplies ensuring crews have the proper tools and supplies to complete the job
• Securing the safety of yourself and others
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a professional manner

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and at least one (1) year experience
• On-the-job training offered
• Must be available to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit
• Ability to use hands to handle or feet
• Ability to reach with hands and arms
• Ability to climb and balance
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs as needed
• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains
• Must be able to work at heights and/or confined spaces
