Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards
- Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead and underground lines
- Aids with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, cross-arms, insulators, switches and switchgear
- Sets poles and anchors
- Aid the team in completing their tasks more effectively and meeting project objectives
- Identify utilities and watch dig crew dig to prevent utility hits
- Clean up and maintain equipment
- Restock trucks with supplies ensuring crews have the proper tools and supplies to complete the job
- Securing the safety of yourself and others
- Operate vehicles and equipment in a professional manner
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, and at least one (1) year experience
- On-the-job training offered
- Must be available to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit
- Ability to use hands to handle or feet
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to climb and balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs as needed
- Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains
- Must be able to work at heights and/or confined spaces
