About the role

As a Ground Segment Engineer at Thales Alenia Space, you will:

  • Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, etc.
  • Formalise specifications and architecture to propose the best solution/product to your clients.
  • Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests.
  • Define test plans and procedures for system level testing.
  • Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances.
  • Design the architecture of the command and control system.
  • Demonstrate the solution to the customer.

Responsibilities

As a Ground Segment Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain detailed specifications and architectures.
  • Lead integration, verification, and validation processes.
  • Ensure the technical integrity and performance of the systems.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of command and control systems.
  • Present and validate solutions to customers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should:

  • Have a Master’s degree from an Engineering School (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or a University degree.
  • Have a proven track record in Software and/or Hardware, Systems Engineering, and IVVQ activities.
  • Be committed to continuous learning and innovation.
  • Specialize in one of the following areas: conception, requirement management, development, test, integration, or validation.
  • Enjoy solving complex problems and working in a dynamic environment.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • The ability to quickly understand the system in which you operate, including key stakeholders, interactions, products, and environments.
  • A thorough understanding of a design-to-cost approach.
  • The capability to adapt and respond to changes effectively.
  • Familiarity with management and engineering tools such as DOORS, Polarion, TFS, JIRA.
  • Experience with network configuration and administration.
  • Experience leading engineering projects or activities.
