About the role
As a Ground Segment Engineer at Thales Alenia Space, you will:
- Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, etc.
- Formalise specifications and architecture to propose the best solution/product to your clients.
- Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests.
- Define test plans and procedures for system level testing.
- Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances.
- Design the architecture of the command and control system.
- Demonstrate the solution to the customer.
Responsibilities
As a Ground Segment Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand customer needs.
- Develop and maintain detailed specifications and architectures.
- Lead integration, verification, and validation processes.
- Ensure the technical integrity and performance of the systems.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of command and control systems.
- Present and validate solutions to customers.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Have a Master’s degree from an Engineering School (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or a University degree.
- Have a proven track record in Software and/or Hardware, Systems Engineering, and IVVQ activities.
- Be committed to continuous learning and innovation.
- Specialize in one of the following areas: conception, requirement management, development, test, integration, or validation.
- Enjoy solving complex problems and working in a dynamic environment.

- The ability to quickly understand the system in which you operate, including key stakeholders, interactions, products, and environments.
- A thorough understanding of a design-to-cost approach.

- Familiarity with management and engineering tools such as DOORS, Polarion, TFS, JIRA.
- Experience with network configuration and administration.
- Experience leading engineering projects or activities.
