About the role
The Team Captain serves as a working leader of the Ground Service group, assuming responsibility and accountability for the team while leading, directing, motivating, evaluating, and approving the work of Ground Service Agents.
Responsibilities
- Leads Ground Service Agents on shift and ensures the team achieves mutually established goals of Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines.
- Ensures Ground Service Agents follow proper procedures.
- Performs leadership duties such as assigning flights, scheduling, and managing agents on a weekly basis.
- Handles clerical functions, reports, and assists with unexpected passenger needs or complaints.
- Performs Ground Service Agent duties as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months of customer service or airline operations experience.
- Ability to lead, direct, and motivate teams for optimum performance.
- Strong active listening and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
- Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
- Ability to perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of customer service or community service experience.
- Previous leadership experience.

Pay
Starting rate: USD $22.10 per hour.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar must obtain and maintain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority. Failure to qualify or maintain good standing may result in termination.
