About the role

RTX’s Ground Based Surveillance (GBS) Finance Team within the Strategic Sensors and Precision Strike (SSPS) Mission area is seeking a Business Manager for the newly awarded $300M Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) Program in the Strategic Early Warning (SEW) portfolio. This role is an integral part of the SEW Finance leadership team and will oversee all aspects of Business Finance execution, including Program Cost Controls, Proposals, Financial Planning and Analysis, Estimates at Completion (EACs), and overall financial execution of the program set.

The selected individual must be an excellent communicator with a strong desire to learn while being aggressively challenged. Competitive applicants will demonstrate the ability to think on their feet, provide accurate and insightful management analysis with recommendations, manage competing priorities, and interact with various levels of management, including Program Directors, Program Managers, and Program Management office representatives to ensure alignment on strategy, operating, and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of financial analysts by providing support, mentorship, and training
  • Manage earned value, analyze program performance, and ensure compliance with internal EVM policy and ANSI/EIA-748 (10255)
  • Develop quarterly Estimate at Completion (EACs)
  • Interface with the Program Management Office and Integrated Product Leadership Team to ensure compliance with financial policies
  • Support monthly pre-close and month-end close activities, including risk and opportunity management
  • Support the development of product group-level inputs and updates to Monthly Forecasts, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Long Range Plan (LRP) objectives
  • Meet critical deadlines while managing multiple conflicting priorities
  • Use strong analytical abilities to understand data quickly and make informed business decisions
  • Prepare finance charts for Program Business Reviews, financial overviews, and other reporting activities as required
  • Participate in key leadership strategy reviews
  • Support program start-up activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience with data analysis and/or reporting
  • Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management), Estimates at Complete (EACs), or Financial Planning and Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with proposals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both verbally and in written form
  • Experience interfacing with senior-level management and customers, including formal presentations
  • Ability to think on their feet, make decisions in a fast-paced environment, and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to identify issues and implement corrective action plans that produce positive results
  • Ability to partner with various functional teams and work collaboratively on gate reviews, contract modification negotiations, financial reporting, and EACs
  • Continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

Hybrid: Employees in hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. The ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
