Groomer - Part-Time

About the role

Bastrop Veterinary Hospital is actively seeking an experienced Pet Groomer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled groomer with an existing skillset who is ready to step into a busy, established client base and earn competitive commission-based income. Candidates must have prior professional dog grooming experience. We do not offer training for this position. You must have your own tools (scissors, clippers, and blower). We will provide a bathtub, soap, grooming table. This is a part-time position, with a schedule of 2–3 days per week, Wednesday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-service grooming: bathing, brushing, clipping, nail trims, and styling
• Evaluate coat and skin condition and recommend appropriate services
• Safely handle and restrain pets to ensure a stress-free experience
• Maintain a clean, organized grooming workspace
• Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming needs and preferences
• Keep accurate grooming records and client notes
• Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure pet health and safety

Requirements

• Proven professional grooming experience (required)
• Own grooming tools (clippers, scissors, brushes, blower, etc.)
• High-quality, compassionate grooming services
• Reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift and handle dogs of all sizes
• Experience with cats is a plus
