About the role
Pampered Paws is part of Digs Dog Care, a premium dog care company offering DayPlay, Overnight Stays, Grooming, and Training across multiple locations nationwide. We believe every pup deserves to feel safe, loved, and at home, and every team member plays a crucial role in achieving this.
Responsibilities
- Groom Techs will be trained to provide grooming duties including bathing, drying, and nail trims.
- Assist groomers with handling dogs during the grooming service.
- Groom Techs will be cross-trained as kennel techs and will assist in other areas as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the grooming space.
- Monitor and proactively address dog health, skin, coat condition, and behavior during grooming; report any concerns to your supervisor immediately.
- Deliver a hospitality-first experience by engaging warmly with every dog and making each grooming visit feel welcoming and stress-free.
- Keep grooming stations, tubs, and tools clean and sanitized between each dog, including proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Absorb and sanitize grooming equipment, dryers, tables, and accessories; restock grooming supplies as needed.
- Assist with lobby customer relations, ensuring pet parents feel informed and at ease before and after grooming services.
- Pitch in on additional tasks that contribute to the overall culture, pet wellbeing, and hospitality experience at Digs.
- Work respectfully with teammates and maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic dog behaviors and body language, or a strong desire to learn modern, compassionate animal care methods.
- Familiarity with grooming tools, equipment, and safe handling practices.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including large/giant breed dogs.
- Ability to follow directions closely (written and verbal).
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong physical ability to lift and carry dogs and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs., bend, and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working indoors with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Available for flexible scheduling, including holidays and at least one weekend day.

- Orientation and training classes covering company policies, procedures, dog body language, and behavior.
