Grocery Store Assistant Manager

As Assistant Store Manager, you are the right-hand to the Store Manager!

Assists with the management of all aspects of Store operations

• Affords assistance in managing customer service
• Affords assistance in managing store condition
• Affords assistance in selecting, training, supervising, and performance management of Store Sales Associates

Unloads and Organizes Merchandise

• Assists in unloading all merchandise from delivery trucks
• Organizes merchandise
• Transfers merchandise from stockroom to store

Collaborates with Team Members

• Ensures the store meets or exceeds the established merchandising standards for product quality, presentation, and visual marketing/merchandising
• Supports reporting to support sales, earnings, and minimizing shrink

Assumes Full Management Responsibility

• In the absence of the Store Manager, assumes full management responsibility

Requirements

• Two (2) or more years of grocery or retail management experience
• Hands-on leadership experience in grocery retail (e.g. Produce, Deli/Bakery, or Meat/Seafood departments) is highly preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting above shoulder height

Schedule Availability

• Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Age Requirement

• You must be 18 years of age or older

Education

• A High School Diploma / Equivalent is required

Driver’s License

• You must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record per GFS policy
