Organization Details Organization Name: Jewish Child & Family Service Address: C-200 123 Doncaster Street Winnipeg MB R3N 2B2 Website: https://www.jcfswinnipeg.org/ Organizational Description: Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 5817 Description of Duties: Grocery Shopper Volunteers assist clients in our Older Adult Services & Mental Health Programs in grocery shopping on a bi-weekly basis. Grocery Shopper Volunteers will receive a grocery list for their client and drop off their groceries at their home. In some cases, clients may accompany volunteers to grocery shop if it is sanctioned by both parties and social workers involved. Volunteers in this role must have a license and an insured vehicle and commit to a bi-weekly schedule of 1.5-2 hours per shift. Skills Required Possess a valid drivers license, insurance and reliable vehicleBe welcoming, positive, respectful, patient, and compassionate with clients.Assist clients with mobilities issues if taking them out to shop.Strong communication skills.Strong active listening skills.Create a friendly environment for clients.Provide a sense of companionship to clients.Open to exploring different cultures.
