Responsibilities

  • Absorb and maintain a safe and clean environment to encourage customer loyalty.
  • Achieve and exceed sales and profit targets set by the department manager.
  • Maintain and monitor all established quality assurance standards.
  • Embrace and implement the Customer 1st strategy, encouraging associates to provide excellent customer service.
  • Display respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety in all interactions.
  • Handle stressful situations effectively and communicate clearly.
  • Show knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Promote trust and respect among colleagues.
  • Answer questions about products and suggest additional items to customers.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers about dairy specials and provide fresh products.
  • Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay updated with store promotions, advertisements, and seasonal changes.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
  • Participate in reinforcing safety programs by following safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks, illegal activities, and other issues.
  • Work collaboratively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Retail experience is desired.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Ability to provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
