Grocery Associate

Job Summary

Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Restocks products in the store. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• % Of Time SERVICE: 70% - Creates welcoming environment, ensures merchandise is displayed according to plans, maintains product availability, freshness, and quality, offers assistance, reviews and inspects products, reports discrepancies, adheres to safety and regulatory compliance, executes recalls and ensures safety protocols are followed.

• % Of Time LEADERSHIP: 10% - Promotes trust and respect among associates, communicates company and department information, adheres to laws and company guidelines.

• % Of Time FINANCIAL: 10% - Maintains inventory, inspects products for quality and freshness, ensures proper temperatures, reports discrepancies, cultivates safety culture, ensures adherence to wage and hour policies.

• % Of Time COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10% - Maintains safety standards, handles equipment safely, reports and assists with safety hazards, notifies management of incidents, ensures compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School / GED preferred.

• Language: English preferred, Spanish not specified.

• Experience: 0 - 3 years minimum supervisory experience.

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be 18 years old, authorization to work in the US or ability to obtain it, successful completion of drug testing and background check, strong customer service, interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.

• Environmental Factors: Retail - General, heavy physical demands, exposure to various working conditions, safety risks, and personal protective equipment.

• Required Equipment: Cleaning supplies and equipment, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, material handling equipment, safety gear.

• Preferred Equipment: Balers/compactors, box cutters.
