Grinding Technician
About the role
We are looking for a Grinding Technician to join our production team within the Grinding department at our Bradford site. This role is ideal for a semi-skilled operator who is looking to improve their skills with some in-house training.
As a Grinding Technician, you’ll operate manual surface grinding machines and semi-automatic grinding machines to manufacture components to exacting specifications. You’ll check size and accuracy throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring components meet quality requirements both during production and on completion.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual and semi-automatic grinding machines to produce high-precision components
- Check component size and accuracy during and after production
- Complete required paperwork and follow shop floor SOPs to support traceability and consistency
- Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to deliver work efficiently and safely
- Carry out minor machine maintenance
- Maintain housekeeping standards
- Adhere to all safety devices and PPE requirements
- Support the smooth running of the shop floor as part of the wider production team
Requirements
Ideally, you will have some engineering background with machining experience, preferably in grinding (internal, surface, cylindrical, centreless, or profiling). However, this is not essential as training will be provided to the right candidates who have some machining or engineering background.
