Grinding Operator

About the role

Join our team as a Grinding Operator to transform raw metal into precise parts. You'll be responsible for setting up and operating grinding equipment to achieve exact dimensions and surface finishes.

Responsibilities

• Operate surface, cylindrical, or bench grinders
• Set up machines including wheel selection, dressing, and adjustments
• Grind parts to specifications on dimensions, tolerances, and finish
• Monitor and adjust as necessary to maintain quality
• Perform first-piece and in-process checks
• Verify work with micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Flag any non-conforming material or defects
• Keep work area organized and safe
• Help maintain production flow and schedules
• Participate in safety training and initiatives

Requirements

• Some experience with grinding tools and equipment
• Comfort reading blueprints and work instructions
• A sharp eye for detail and quality workmanship
• Basic understanding of materials and surface finishes
• Good time management to meet production schedules
• A strong commitment to safety and organization

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous grinding or machining experience
• Basic math skills relevant to machining

• Sharp visual acuity and attention to detail
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and materials
• Physical stamina for standing and walking
