We are seeking a Preparation and Finish Operator to support our remelting operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role follows established Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instructions to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient processing of customer material.

Responsibilities
- Operate electrode preparation equipment, including annealing furnaces, grinder, and band saw
- Ship and receive electrodes, ingots, billets, and supplies via rail car and truck for the remelt facility, EQS Shipping, and EQS/ENS A-space warehouse
- Assist the Remelt Operator as needed
- Complete pre-operational inspections for cranes and mobile equipment
- Operate remote overhead cranes
- Stock supplies for preparation and finishing
- Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections
- Operate all department equipment/machinery and related systems as necessary
- Perform housekeeping in the remelting facility
- Abide by all company policies, plant safety regulations, and work rules
- Meet attendance requirements
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a steel manufacturing environment preferred
- Remote crane operation experience preferred
- Prior shipping experience preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively with others
Upon hiring, you will complete the Theoretical Steelmaking Course (internal training).
