About the Role
This position involves setting up, operating, and adjusting OD/ID grinding machines to ensure parts meet specified dimensions. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating grinding machines
- Verifying machine setup and inspecting products for dimensional accuracy
- Selecting, dressing, and mounting grinding wheels according to specifications
- Maintaining equipment and performing preventive maintenance
- Operating power tools and machinery while adhering to safety guidelines
- Assisting and training others as needed
Responsibilities
The primary duties of this role include:
- Performing set-up, operation, and adjustment of OD/ID grinding machines
- Inspecting and verifying product characteristics to ensure they meet specified tolerances
- Selecting, dressing, and mounting grinding wheels based on specifications
- Maintaining equipment by completing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting issues
- Operating power tools and machinery safely
- Assisting and training colleagues as needed
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of grinding experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Ability to read blueprints and maintain attention to detail
- Visual acuity for detailed work
- Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted and stand throughout the shift
Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Follow designated safety rules and regulations
- Be able to work extended hours as required by production needs
