Grill Cook

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Grill Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you’ll prepare and serve fresh, made-to-order food while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You’ll play an important part in delivering excellent service and supporting Meritus Health’s commitment to teamwork, integrity, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare grill and menu items according to customer selections and quality standards
• Provide friendly, timely customer service—smiles encouraged!
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, floors, and equipment
• Practice proper food handling, storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures
• Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with all health and safety regulations
• Control food costs through proper portioning and minimizing waste

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous food service or customer service experience preferred
• ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning ingredients

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed
• Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat and food service equipment
