Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assume leadership of Clemson University’s Extension, outreach, and community engagement in the management of household and structural pests and will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized, externally funded program that addresses the needs of stakeholders regarding pests in urban and built environments.

The incumbent will be expected to work with a diverse group, including other CAFLS and university faculty members, the pest management industry, Extension and state educators, pesticide manufacturers and formulators, state and federal regulators and the general public.

The successful candidate will participate actively in undergraduate and graduate education by chairing and serving on graduate committees, supervising thesis, dissertation, and undergraduate research, and authoring Extension and research publications with students.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Entomology or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, collegiality, basic knowledge of laws and regulations related to the pesticides and pest management industry, and procurement of extramural funding.
  • Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system.
