Greens Superintendent Assistant

Essential Functions

• Aids in managing and maintaining properties including: golf course and practice areas, maintenance equipment, clubhouse grounds and landscaping, restrooms and potable water on course, open spaces, wooded areas, unused acreage and areas outside the perimeter fence, sod farm and nursery, and other properties as specified by the Superintendent of Public Parks.
• Supervises irrigation repairs and maintenance to various equipment.
• Aids in the planning of some maintenance and project work.
• Supervises greens crew and relevant training.
• Aids in acquiring equipment and purchasing necessary supplies to maintain club properties.
• Supervises inventory control and the equipment maintenance programs.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• General knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practice.
• Knowledge on irrigation systems and golf course equipment.
• High degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in problem solving and decision making.
• Current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years experience working with golf courses, turf management and related equipment.
