About the role
The Gray Media Internship Program is a 10-week immersive experience for college students (Junior or Senior status preferred) in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or related fields. The program offers real-world experience in local media, including roles as producers, MMJs, meteorologists, and media sales executives.
What You’ll Do
- Own the role: Handle real-world assignments such as crafting leads for the evening news, tracking weather fronts, or closing digital ad deals.
- Create content: Produce content that extends beyond the TV screen, including social media posts, streaming app content, and web stories.
- Collaborate with pros: Work alongside experienced professionals who are leaders in the field, gaining valuable insights.
- Master your craft: Dedicate 25 hours per week for 10 weeks to developing a professional portfolio.
- Make an impact: Use your skills to tell stories that matter to the community or assist local businesses through innovative media strategies.
- Build your future: Position yourself for potential full-time career opportunities within Gray Media’s extensive network of 117 stations.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a college/university (preferred Junior/Senior)
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Earning a degree in Journalism/Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Sports, News, or related fields
- A desire to gain hands-on experience in the local media industry
