About the role
The Grassroots Activity Strategist - Program Manager is responsible for driving the implementation of developer-facing community programs and activations, including meetups, workshops, hackathons, and other grassroots initiatives. This role requires a collaborative, proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities and turn ideas into well-run programs.
Responsibilities
- Drive implementation of developer initiatives and activations, including meetups, workshops, hackathons, code-alongs, and events centered around developers
- Cover timelines, logistics, communications, and participant follow-up across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with campaign, community, events, evangelism, and partner teams to ensure programs are well aligned and well-driven
- Turn broad goals into clear action plans, trackers, and subsequent actions
- Identify risks, gaps, and blockers early, and proactively work to resolve them
- Help bring together findings, improve repeatable processes, and give to a stronger operational foundation for grassroots efforts
- Represent the team professionally in both internal coordination and external-facing execution
Requirements
- 3–6 years of proven experience in community, field, program, event, or grassroots execution roles
- Exceptional organizational skills, with a confirmed system for leading multiple concurrent workstreams
- Proactive collaborator communication; does not wait to be asked for updates
- Collaborative, clear working style with no tendency to operate in silos
- Strong follow-through and comfort owning detailed execution from planning through post-event reporting
Nice to have
- Experience working at a startup or mid-sized company, where wearing multiple hats and building structure was part of the job
- Ability to take direction, align to strategy, and implement without needing to personally lead the strategy
- Team-first approach; motivated by program success and business impact rather than personal visibility
- Experience in developer, technical, community, or events-based programs
- Experience supporting meetups, workshops, hackathons, or grassroots community activations
- Comfort working within a larger company environment and navigating cross-functional stakeholders and process
- Ability to balance creativity with professionalism and alignment
- Comfortable raising risks, blockers, and trade-offs early
