About the role

National Salvage & Service Corporation is searching for a GRAPPLE TRUCK OPERATOR who is results oriented and has a self-motivated work ethic. They will be able to quickly resolve any safety issues that may arise on track, while maintaining both company and Railroad compliance regarding safety.

Responsibilities

  • Travel is required, 4 weeks out then 1 week at home.
  • Hauling railroad ties, scrap metal, scrap wood, and equipment.
  • Physically able to secure loads: strapping, tarping and torquing.
  • Able to work long hours, overtime, and possible weekends in all weather conditions.
  • Filling out daily paperwork and working independently.
  • Ability to use a smart phone, GPS, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot problems on equipment.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL required
  • MUST have at least 2 years tractor trailer experience
  • Friendly approach when working with customers
  • Good communication with dispatchers and office employees, written and verbal
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Completely and accurately fill out daily paperwork
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to make small repairs (change hydraulic hose, grease and lube, safety walk around inspection)
  • Follow all Safety Program, Policies and Procedures

Qualifications

  • Stand, Walk, Climb, Bend, Twist, Move Throughout the Day, Use Hands in Repetitive Motions, Repeat Same Movements, walk on uneven terrain, Lift 50 pounds, and Exposed to Loud Noises on Live Train Tracks.
  • This is an Outdoor Position and you will be exposed to all weather elements.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-offer drug test and will be subject to FRA random drug testing.

Pay

$28hr with 10 weeks Paid Time Off!

Schedule

Full Time (Hourly) Regular Position (40 hours) – Overtime as needed
