Essential Responsibilities
- Read and interpret work orders; follow instructions to complete projects accurately and on time
- Operate graphic output equipment, including vinyl and grand format printers
- Load and calibrate machines to ensure optimal print quality
- Effectively print products according to work orders and production schedules
- Establish and follow graphic production standards
- Inspect finished signs for accuracy, quality, and compliance with drawings and specifications
- Follow established quality control procedures to minimize rework and ensure standards are met
- Use past job information to guide workflows, keep files organized within company system, and follow production standards
- Prioritize work orders to maximize efficiency of equipment and materials
- Monitor and manage material usage to reduce waste and control costs
- Collaborate with other production departments to support workflow and meet deadlines
- Take inventory of materials and coordinate stock orders with supervisor
- Load, move, and stage materials and completed signage for shipping, delivery, or installation
- Record job details in production software (hours, materials, procedures, specifications)
- Communicate project updates, changes, delays, or issues to the Graphics Supervisor
- Document equipment issues and report repair needs to management
Requirements
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Experience with large format printing processes and equipment; Knowledge of pre-press production and RIP software; Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs – Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; Intermediate knowledge of printing and color profiling and management; Ability to independently operate machinery; Working knowledge of computers and the Windows environment; Ability to correctly use and read a tape measure; Ability to lift and move materials and finished signs without machine assistance (up to 50 lbs)
- Working Knowledge: Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship; Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions; Ability to multitask in a schedule-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and quality; Effective communication and collaboration with other team members; Willingness to take direction and learn new skills; Adherence to safety protocols and ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace; Reliable, flexible, and professional in attitude and appearance; Ability to work off-shift hours as needed
- Education & Work Authorization: High school diploma, trade school certificate, or GED; Authorization to work in the United States; Previous experience in the sign industry; Post-Secondary Education or Equivalent Experience; Valid Driver License
