Graphic & Motion Designer
Reports To
The Graphic & Motion Designer will report directly to Free Range’s Managing Director, be accountable to clients, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Job Overview
In this role you will be responsible for communicating with clients and cross-functional teams to understand the clients’ challenges and goals. You will work with clients throughout project life cycles to come up with creative moodboards, storyboards, caricatures, and other graphically designed elements that will help tell stories through infographics, iconography, animation, and video. Through your work, you will provide Free Range customers with a positive, creative, and consultative experience. You are a creative leader who effectively harnesses the talents of others and contributes to the creative process while efficiently moving toward final deliverables.
Responsibilities & Duties
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following duties and tasks:
- Video & Animation Production: Oversee and execute the entire creative production process to identify tools and techniques to produce 2D and 3D animations and videos.
- Illustrations, Iconography & Logo Design: Oversee and execute the entire creative process to produce illustrations, iconography, and logos.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Weekly meetings for presentations and feedback as needed; manage requirements and approvals; collaborate with Project Manager and other creatives; SCRUM/Kanban management; writing and storytelling as needed; note taking and progress tracking/reporting; support through testing and quality assurance as needed.
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications necessary for someone to fill this position.
- Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent educational experience.
- 4–10 years working with graphic design, animation, and video production.
- Portfolio must be provided.
- Likes working with fast-paced teams.
- Understands design systems and UX/UI concepts.
Design Skills
- Video & Animation: After Effects, Premiere, and other animation or video editing software; 2D & 3D techniques; rigging; skeletal and/or bone-based animation.
- Illustrations, Iconography & Logo Design: Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design software.
Experience working with nonprofits is a plus. Technical experience is a plus. Marketing experience is a plus.
Compensation
For the right fit, this will turn into a full-time position with salary, benefits, and PTO ($60K–$80K/year based on location and level of experience). Initially we are hiring hourly ($30–$50/hour based on location and experience).
