Graphic Designer, Multimedia Specialist
About The Role
Aptive is seeking a talented and proactive Graphic Designer/Multimedia Specialist to join our team on a contingent basis. This role is pivotal in producing high-quality visual and multimedia content that effectively communicates complex program messages to diverse audiences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging graphics, videos, presentations, and other digital assets that support outreach efforts, branding, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. This position requires a self-starter with strong visual design skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate program messaging into compelling visual stories.
The role offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel for client engagements as needed. The ideal candidate is adaptable, client-focused, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines, ensuring all deliverables meet accessibility standards and align with client branding and digital strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of graphic design and multimedia production experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Multimedia, or a related field
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
- Portfolio demonstrating federal or public-sector work
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards (preferred)
- Experience supporting complex projects within the federal government or similar environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS suitability/public trust clearance
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Create professional, high-quality graphics, publication designs, and multimedia content to support outreach efforts, including websites, videos, presentations, documents, brochures, events, and branding initiatives
- Develop and edit visual and multimedia assets consistent with client branding, messaging, and digital strategies
- Contribute to the development of communication products such as infographics, case studies, promotional materials, and briefing decks
- Ensure all designed products comply with Section 508 accessibility standards to reach diverse audiences
- Collaborate closely with the communications team to translate key messages into compelling visual content
- Support visual needs for events, web content, and social media platforms, ensuring consistency and high quality
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
- Incorporate feedback from clients and team members to refine and improve deliverables
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in graphic design and multimedia production
