Graphic Designer II
About The Role
The Environmental Graphic Designer II is a creative and detail-oriented professional responsible for developing compelling visual environments that enhance brand identity and user experience across various spaces. This role involves collaborating with interior designers, architects, and clients to translate concepts into innovative graphic solutions, including signage, wayfinding systems, exhibits, and environmental graphics. The designer will participate in all phases of the design process, from initial concept development to final artwork production, ensuring that each project aligns with client goals and brand standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, or related design field
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in environmental or experiential graphic design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating diverse design skills across multiple markets
- Exceptional typography and visual communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) on Mac
- Knowledge of Revit and SketchUp is a plus
- Experience with 3D design, wayfinding, exhibition design, and environmental graphics
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working within fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively
Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the design process, from concept development through artwork production
- Translate client needs and ideas into visually compelling concepts that reflect their mission and brand identity
- Support project execution by developing storyboards, detailed designs, and final artwork for fabrication
- Design highly detailed solutions across various media, including signage, wayfinding, exhibits, and environmental graphics
- Develop comprehensive documentation such as graphic programs, signage systems, donor recognition, and interpretive exhibits under the guidance of design leaders
- Produce camera-ready artwork suitable for fabrication and installation
- Engage actively in team meetings, design critiques, and collaborative discussions to refine concepts
- Prepare visualizations and mockups on digital models to communicate design intent effectively
- Collaborate closely with project teams, including interior designers, architects, and clients, to ensure cohesive design delivery
